Summer Circus
The Summer Circus was a great success with young people from across the Deanery gathering to learn some new skills. With juggling, plate spinning, diablo spinning and tight rope walking there was barely a moment to breathe. At the end of a fun filled couple of days the young people were able to show off their new found skills with a performance to over 40 parents, siblings and admirers.
Engage Events
In the Parishes of St. Patrick’s and St. Thomas More, adults and young people are working
alongside the Deanery Youth Worker to establish more regular activities for young people in their Parish. This process has involved engaging the whole community in creating a vision for youth ministry in the Parish, identifying what the young people need and matching that to the skills and available time of the adults. More Parishes are also beginning this process so keep your eyes on Parish newsletters for further details.
Regular Youth Events in the Deanery
Sacred Heart Friendship Group
Meets every Friday, during term time, at Sacred Heart Presbytery. Forbes Road. 6.30pm-8pm. For school years 6-8. Every week there is a different activity to try - cooking, crafts, fun and games or just come and chat with your friends and sample the delights of the tuck shop.
The Friendship group is now taking a break for the summer holidays. Check back here for the restart date in September.
Young Adults Prayer Group Meeting
St. Marie's Cathedral, 7.30pm Fortnightly Eucharistic adoration prayer meeting on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month. An opportunity for praise and worship, praying the rosary and Eucharistic Adoration. Afterwards we head to a local pub for drink & conversation.
